Creating PSA
I downloaded movie maker and opened my outline final draft. I uploaded all my pictures onto movie maker and picked out the facts I wanted to use. I inserted all the facts on different frames then the picuters. Then I started editing and repositioning my frames. Lastly I found a song that went along with my theme and inserted it into my video. Then my PSA was created! :)

What I learned about PSA's
After reading the article i learned that PSA's are mainly for non-profit organizations to inform others about the issue they are trying to solve. Music helps PSA's add emotion to the topic unless the music does not match up with the topic. The article was written so that it was easily to understand and as if it was written personally for the reader. I enjoyed reading the article and would recommend it to any trying to make a PSA.

PSA Outline
I want a silent PSA with music matching the feeling of my topic in the background.
My PSA will be words on a screen showing facts about the disease.
I also will mention at the end what I want to do and how they can help accomplish this goal. My main audience will be supporters of my nonprofit organization.

Preliminary Identification of Presentation
i. Will your capstone include constructing or purchasing explanatory props?
I will probably be using purchasing explanatory props just because i already have some of these from when my grandma had ALS.I would also have to purchase the materials to set up my overall presentation
ii. How will you present poster material (an easel, stand)?
I will use a stand.
iii. Will you be fabricating a model or a 3d prototype?
I will probably be doing a 3d structure of how I want the actual place to look.
iv. What is appropriate dress? A nurse outfit, a lab coat, a suit?
The appropriate dress is an everyday outfit. My topic is just based on a matter that effects many people's everyday life. If I do decide to wear something else it will be a lab coat to represent the research to finding the cure.
v. What are important points to present in your verbal presentation?
In my verbal presentation I think it is important to talk about the beliefs as to what could be the cause of the disease. I also think it is important to talk about why this specific disease caught my interest.
vi. Will you be presenting a brochure?
I probably will have a brochure to show what is included in the nonprofit organization.
vii. Will you be including presentation of the website, video, game or animation
I will definitely be presenting a website about the organization.
Look and Feel issues.
My presentation is going to be serious. Seeing as the topic I picked has to do with a disease with no cure, I don't believe it is a laughing matter.
I was thinking of using more of dark colors. I was maybe going to go with a black, white, and gray theme. The video will start with facts and then switch to pictures or videos of people with ALS. I want to show and tell the effect of the disease.
My material will be persuasive because it will be emotional and informing. I'm hoping it will touch people's hearts as well as give them some information about ALS. With this I am hoping that many people will follow in my belief and want to help out more with my end product.
I make my point of view understood by showing my knowledge of the subject as well as my personal experience with the topic.
I am trying to create an emotional but serious video and presentation. It will be black and white with not much use of any other color. I might incorporates some blue into the video, maybe with the text for the facts.
Thinking about PSA
I like the approach this video took with showing how over a short period of time ALS took over the man's life and changed it forever.
This PSA was just random facts about ALS and how it effects people. I saw facts on there that I did not see in my research. This approach gives the audience a lot to think about which is the effect I want my PSA to have on people.
After seeing these PSA's i think the approach I will take is very similar to the first PSA I watched. It follows a person and shows the effect of ALS as it progresses overtime. I also would like to incorporate facts about ALS on the screen before showing the person with ALS. It will flash back and forth between the person and the facts. I want to emphasis the impact this disease has on the person effected as well as the family.
